Get Involved

There are several ways for people to become involved with Young Poets of Louisville including: facilitating a workshop, volunteering, sponsoring an event or program, partnering, and providing financial support.

Facilitate a Workshop:

Young Poets of Louisville is looking for teaching artists who can engage young people. If you are applying to teach with Young Poets for the first time, please send your resume to info@youngpoets502.org and submit a Lesson Plan Template. If you have taught with Young Poets before and would like to do so again, please submit a Lesson Plan Template for a one-week session or a Series Lesson Plan Template if you would like to teach multiple workshops as a series. Our workshops are designed to engage youth of different learning styles in developing their creative writing and performance skills, in discussing meaningful topics, and in collaborating with others. All lessons should include a list of materials; a text, source of media, or other source material (photographs, etc.); discussion questions; a collaborative activity; and a writing prompt.

  • Facilitators must arrive 15 minutes prior to the start of the workshop.
  • Facilitators will be paid a rate of $70-$100 per hour depending on the number of students who attend the workshop.
